Chapter
Rides and Events
There is certain requirements set-up by National HOG that local Chapters must follow when holding Chapter rides and events. Chapter rides and activities are conducted primarily for the benefit of HOG Chapter Members. There are 3 categories of Chapter rides and events which are identified as the following:
C-Closed. Open to Chapter members and 1 guest per member. All guest MUST sign a release form.
M-Members Only. Open to Chapter members only. No guest.
O-Open. Open to Chapter members, national HOG members, and other guest as desired. Everyone MUST sign a release form.
* If an event is listed in our newsletter that does not include that the event is closed, members only, or open then it is a non-Chapter event.
*If we are holding a ride to a non-Chapter event, the ride will officially end when we arrive at the event and the “kick stands go down”.
*Notes regarding minor children (members or
not):
Ages 1-18:
Parent or legal guardian must sign the Chapter Event Release Form For Minors at every Chapter ride or event.
Ages 12-18:
Parent or legal guardian (as appointed by the court-just being someone’s grandparent, aunt, or uncle is not enough) must sign the Chapter Event Release Form For Minors at every Chapter ride or event.
Minor must sign the Minor’s Assumption of Risk Acknowledgment at every Chapter ride or event.
*Release forms for minors will be available at Chapter meetings so that members can get the required signatures in advance. This is particularly important for the minors whose parents will not be at the ride or event.
*Be sure to look at the Chapter two month calendar in our Chapter Newsletter to see if the ride or event is (C) Closed, (M) Members Only, or (O) Open.
